Events Worth Checking Out This February

Let’s thaw out the cold weather with spring infused events this February.

Ever since we’ve had the snow warnings and the cold biting wind, the last couple of weeks have been a struggle with overlaying clothes, iced-frozen cars and ice-rink public car parks. (That’s just the 20mins journey to work!) So, to warm us all up, we’re taking a look at upcoming events this month that will bring an exciting warmth to the cold weeks.

 

BookFest

9th Feb – 10th March

Portsmouth, Hampshire

 

Portsmouth was once home to authors, Charles Dickens, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and HG Wells.

BookFest offers literary fans the chance to discover Portsmouth city. Various talks, book readings and special events with authors will take place on the day.

Orchids Festival

9th Feb – 10th March

Kew Gardens, London

 

Orchid lovers can see hundreds of beautiful flowers arranged in the Princess of Wales Conservatory and discover the importance they have on Thai medicine, cuisine and culture.

Winter Ales Festival

20th – 23rd Feb

Derby, Derbyshire

 

With over 400 cask ales, ciders and world beers, festival goers are entertained with plenty of options. There’ll also be live band performances for you to dance to.
Viking Festival

20th – 27th Feb

York, North Yorkshire

 

Live battle re-enactments with lively party celebrations. Who wouldn’t want to go?
Blues Bash

22nd – 24th Feb,

Broadstairs, Kent

 

The popular Blues festival has 60 free bands performing across 15 different venues. Headline performers specifically perform on a Friday or Saturday night.
The Coastival Festival

22nd – 24th Feb

Scarborough

 

A 3-day festival with pop, comedy, theatre and dance performers. The Coastival Festival is in its 10th year and one to definitely blast away the winter blues.
