Jimmy Eat World and Good Charlotte Headline Slam Dunk 2018
Slam Dunk has announced emo-rock veterans Jimmy Eat World and pop-punk band, Good Charlotte as joint headliners for the May bank holiday weekend festival.
Jimmy Eat World, who will be celebrating their 25th anniversary as a band this year, are one of the most influential bands in their genre, with eight full length albums under their belt. This year is the band’s first time performing at Slam Dunk and will also be the emo-pop-rock band’s one and only festival appearance in 2018 so fans are advised to order tickets early.
Accompanying them in the headliners spot are pop-punk band, Good Charlotte, led by Benji and Joel Madden, who are returning to the festival for the third time. The multi-platinum stars have had huge success in their genre with six studio albums and various appearances in other mediums. Their previous performance at Slam Dunk in 2015 had to be upgraded to main stage due to popularity, so it is not surprising this year the band are headlining the event.
The festival, which is in its twelfth year, has attracted some of the biggest names in emo-rock, pop-punk and rock and 2017 marked its biggest year yet with festival directors having to relocate one of this year’s events to a new location due to the festivals popularity. The University of Hertfordshire, which has hosted the south date in the past, has moved to nearby Hatfield Park.
Dates for Slam Dunk start on Saturday 26th May in Leeds, to Hatfield Park on Sunday 27th and lastly to Birmingham on Bank Holiday Monday 28th May. For full line-up details, click here.
