Festival Events: Winter Festivals

Can’t wait for the summer festival season to begin? Well, what would you say if we told you, you don’t have to?

Avoid the January blues this month by continuing the season’s festivities into the new year with winter festivals. It seems spring and summer will have competition as resorts are holding festival events as part of their weekend getaways.

Forget large crowds in a sweltering field bombarding each other for the best view of the stage as winter festivals take the popular event inside for warm, intimate performances between artists and audience members.

And events start in January so you don’t have to wait long. Butlins’ Rockaway Beach Festival returns for its third year, starting the second weekend of this month. Tickets include accommodation for the entire weekend and access to resort facilities, from the Skyline Pavilion to resort restaurants. For further activities outside the festival, there’s a fairground, spa and cafes for you to enjoy.

Want something a little later in the year but still have that intimate festival setting? The Winter Social Festival in Maidstone is back this March. Considered to be the most prestigious off-season festival, with past headliners including Seth Troxler and Sven Väth, The Winter Social is the UK’s biggest indoor house and techno festival, attracting top-level DJs, in a warehouse setting. Enjoy the all-day dance fest to get you ready for the summer edition, The Social Festival in September.

Don’t let the cold weather and general January mood spoil your new year. Get festival ready with these upcoming events.
