What are Tyvek Wristbands?

Tyvek Wristbands are often referred to as the ‘paper’ bands, though they are not actually paper and most of us have no idea what they are actually made out of; which is why we have supplied all the information you need to know about our bestselling Tyvek wristbands.

 

Material

Tyvek is made up of woven spun high-density polyethylene that creates this tough, hard-wearing material that looks and feels like paper, but has the qualities of plastic. Tyvek wristbands are strong and water-resistant bands without bulking down or scratching the wrist like other plastic materials. The simplicity of the product, with its lightness, bright coloured backgrounds and resilience to the elements, is probably why Tyvek wristbands have been around, and will continue to stay around, for years.

 

Durability

The bands themselves are extremely easy to use and are designed with a ‘one size to fit all’ purpose. Their paper-like surface makes them easy to write on with biros, Sharpies or permanent markers, meaning you can skip the expense of custom print if need be.

 

Sticking Power

Tyvek wristbands are secure, single-use wristbands with a self-adhesive fastener. Simply pull the tag off and stick the wristband down. While on first sight these bands appear flimsy and paper like, the self-adhesive is strong enough to remain stuck for hours (even to metal).

 

Tampering

Tyvek wristbands are extremely easy to spot when they have been tampered with. The sticky self-adhesive is made in a way that if picked, the strip will flake and curl, showing a clear sign of tampering to security and event staff. These bands can only be removed by scissors.

 

Purchasing

Tyvek wristbands come in two widths: ¾” or 1” and both are sold in blocks of ten bands with a minimum order of 50 wristbands.

 

Colour Matching

Band Colours

There are various colour choices when it comes to our Tyvek wristbands, from strips, to block colours to pre-patterns. To view the colours available, please see the Tyvek Wristband Template.

 

Sizing and Designs

1″ Tyvek bands are 248mm long  and 25mm wide. ¾” Tyvek bands are 250mm long and 19mm wide.

Print areas will vary from different widths, but both ¾” and 1” Tyvek bands are black print only.

Print areas:

1” – 200mm x 15mm

¾” – 200mm x 10mm
