It’s a sad fact of life, that as the cost of admission to events and festivals becomes increasingly more expensive, so the incidence of counterfeiting and payment evasion is likely to become more widespread. There are also signs that the fraudulent methods being used are becoming more sophisticated and difficult to detect. Never has there been a better time to ensure that security wristbands are being used at your event. The possibility of lost revenue will nearly always exceed the modest cost of the wristbands. However, it is important to understand the security features which each type of wristband offers, as well as the additional features which can be added to enhance the security level. It’s important to choose both the right type of band for your event as well as budget. As a general rule, the increased security means a higher priced wristband.

Tyvek Wristbands

TW have the lowest security rating with reliance on a self – adhesive closure with security cut. All bands are uniquely numbered.

Vinyl Wristbands

VW have a medium security rating with a secure fastener which once closed cannot be reopened, thus preventing the wristband from being transferred for further use. In fact, the only practical way to remove the band is to cut it off.

Tex Tags

TT have the highest security rating. The multicoloured embroidery is almost impossible to duplicate whilst the metal clasp must be secured under supervision. This ensures that the wristband is sufficiently tightened and cannot be loosened and removed for further use.
We provide a number of additional features which will all help to raise the security rating.

Printing

All our Tyvek and Vinyl bands can be printed with customers logo and text. Not only does this improve the appearance of the product but is obviously more difficult to copy than a simple plain colour. Our hot foil printing on Vinyl bands offers a number of print colours which are difficult to replicate.

Holographic Foils

Holograms are a well established security feature which can be added to any of our Vinyl bands.

Numbering

Adding your own numbering sequence to a wristband makes duplication impossible. Both our Vinyl and Tex Tag bands can be sequentially numbered which improves security but can also assist with entry management.

Bar Coding

Bar Coding is the ultimate security feature, since once scanned upon entry, the band cannot be removed and then represented without showing that it has already been scanned and is being clearly reused. It’s also unlikely that a counterfeited copy would be scannable. Bar coding can be added to both Tyvek and Vinyl wristbands.
